Hello readers! We'd like to apologize for the previous and upcoming week. Due to unforeseen circumstances, our primary writer has been unable to work consistently. We would like to shift our scheduling around in the hopes of accommodating this!
But first, we want to talk about something else rather important: writers! At current, No Gold Here has a single writer, who has a chronic illness that can suddenly a seriously upend their life at sometimes random intervals (please don't worry, our writer's life is not in danger!). There is very little they can do about this without the proper medication, and at current they are struggling to get it.
That said, with only one writer and no income to the website, all collaborations with other creators comes out of pocket. Ideally we would like to have more writers on board, but at current we are unable to provide reliable pay. Until No Gold Here is making some sort of revenue, allowing us to pay other writers and collaborators, we will have scheduling issues like this one.
What does that mean for readers?
Simply put, we're asking for donations. We have a Ko-Fi page which now has options for tiers, though we're unsure how long we'll be able to use it. While we have no intention of breaking Ko-Fi's TOS, we're also aware of PayPal's... issues. Similarly, we cannot use Patreon, simply because of the content we talk about. Ideally we'll be able to make money through our SubscribeStar, but as of right now most users are far more familiar with PayPal-adjacent payment processors. SubStar allows us to link directly to a bank account, allowing us to bypass PayPal's draconian rules.
If you're able to donate, even a small amount, we've be very appreciative! We want to be able to pay our writers, artists, and other collaborators and ensure our readers are provided the content they want.
We may not have a new article up until June, but we will be trying our best to provide regardless. We sincerely hope our readers understand this request, and do not hold it against anyone for not being able to donate; it's a tough time right now, and we're all feeling it. Provide for yourself FIRST, always!
At current, we will be trying to have two articles out a month, still submitted on Wednesdays at 3PM EST! As for h-reviews, those may be spotty up until we have reevaluated how we want to go about doing them in a way that is both informative and meaningful.
